About the event
April 6, 2019 is the New year as per lunar calendar, celebrated across different regions of South Asian in their own unique ways, each having its own significance. In some south Indian states, it is celebrated as ‘Ugadi’, while in others as ‘Vishu’. In North India, the Punjabis celebrate as‘Vaisakhi’ and in western India as ‘Gudi Padva’. In eastern India, Manipuris enjoy as ‘Sajibu Cheiraoba’ while the Bengalis bathe in the holy Ganges on this day. Sindhis of both India and Pakistan celebrate the day as ‘Cheti Chand’.
We, at Sunrit Culture Group, on this auspicious day, present a sequence of Indian classical dance and music on 6th April 2019, at Winter Gardens starting 3pm. If weather permits we will also perform outdoors at Peace gardens. Everyone is welcome to share this moment with us. We all humbly look forward to have all your company and participation.
